Organizers are currently seeking talented Independent Film Makers, Artists and Musicians as well as volunteers to take part in this year’s festivities.

We couldn’t be more excited to still be in the running for the Searchlight! This is easily the most promotion we’ve ever gotten or will get (or so it would seem)! Grant Lawrence said ‘FAM Fest’ on National radio. Seriously. This means the world to us.

There has been so much positivity that has stemmed from this competition for us… talented acts are starting to contact us in regards to our next fest, people in town who had no idea who we were are getting behind the festival and I’ve been seriously encouraged to make the next festival our best yet. The fact that we’re still in the running really shows me that there are A LOT of people that appreciate what we’re doing here in Windsor… and I’d be lying if I said it didn’t feel great!

So, thanks again CBC3! And even bigger thanks to all of our voters in Windsor and across the Country (and even the world in some cases)! We sincerely appreciate all the support!

Infinite thank yous to Mat Mathias, the owner at Chanoso’s Restaurant in downtown Windsor! Local support has been growing by the day and it’s totally working! On wednesday we mad it into the TOP 40 Festival List, we were contacted by two music acts from out West last night telling us they’d like to get involved with this year’s festival, and more and more people around town seem to know who we are. Thanks so much to all our voters! Let’s keep pushing for that next round… VOTE DAILY!

If you haven’t heard the news we’ve been nominated by the CBC Radio 3 as one of the Best Music Festivals in the Country! I kind of laughed about it at first but quickly realized that this is probably the biggest opportunity we’ll have as a low-budget, completely independent festival to gain this kind of National exposure. Realistically, I can’t think of a better way to do good by all of our past and future participants than making a legitimate push to make a small dent in this competition, because at this point, we have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Even if we don’t make it past the first round of voting, we’ve already gotten people in town who didn’t know about FAM Fest to turn their head and perk up their ears… and that’s almost prize enough… almost.

As of today, we have 305 daily voters (via our Facebook Voter Reminder Page), ‘Attend the event if you’d like that same reminder.

We’ve also taken the CBC’s advice and created a Radio 3 Profile & Playlist… Check it out!
